The Solutions

Maybe we can 'throw' out this view someday

The Solutions

  1. The government can increase regulations on the disposal of chemical waste to ensure that the problems do not occur. It could also limit the amount of waste industries are allowed to produce, or provide incentives to create less waste.
  2. Industries can break down chemical compounds into less dangerous forms, or store waste in ways that protect the environment from being exposed to the waste.
  3. The industries also can choose not to buy those products which require the production of chemical waste, attempt to influence policymakers, and produce less chemical waste themselves.
  4. Chemical waste can be reduced by at least one-third using existing technologies and methods.

Did we want this effect to be occur again in the future ?

The Causes and the Effects of Chemical Waste

The Causes

Chemical waste is produced both on a huge scale by major industries and on a relatively tiny scale by individuals. No matter where it comes from, chemical waste can be dangerous.

One of the main causes of the abundance of chemical waste is that people do not realize how large a problem it is. Because it can be simply removed and send to landfill, it is often assumed that the problem ends there.

Industries have often displayed an unwillingness to find the ways to deal with the chemical waste because of the expenses associated with it.

Many industries and governments create crude landfills to store waste, and often just dump waste chemicals into nearby bodies of water.

Chemicals use for industrial processes often create dangerous forms of waste. The amounts of these chemicals has risen heavily in the past, as more areas of the world industrialize and new products are produced.

Over 80,000 different chemicals are used in industries worldwide. Often, it is difficult and expensive to get rid of these chemicals and to store them in a way that does not endanger human life or the environment. Obviously, not all of these chemicals are dangerous, but many are and they do create serious problems.

Around the world, hundred of millions of tons of chemical waste are produced annually. Rather than cleaning up or storing waste more carefully, one method of reducing the chemical waste problem may be to simply stop producing so much of it.

The Effects

  • Affects our health
  • Affects our socio-economic conditions
  • Affects our coastal and marine environment
  • Affects our climate

The History of Chemical Waste

Some of the chemical substances that have been used in chemical industry

Before this, chemical has fall under regulations such as COSHH in the United Kingdom, or the Clean Water Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act in the United States. In the U.S., the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as well as state and local regulations also regulate chemical use and disposal. Chemical waste may or may not be classed as hazardous waste.

A little bit questions about the safety in chemical waste.

Objective Of The Blog

Does this art bring any mean to you ? Or not ?

To make the readers and also public people to realize about the negative effect and how dangerous the chemical waste can be if we totally careless about this kind of issue. Apart from that, the readers also can recognize or discover about the sign of effect from chemical waste and prevents it at all time. Nevertheless, it is important for the readers to take note about this kind of problem that majorly can risk their health.

More About Chemicals....

The Meaning Of Chemicals

Chemistry is the study of matter and its interactions with the other matters. Anything made of matter is therefore a chemical. Any liquid, solid, or gas. Any pure substance ; any mixture. A chemical can often be broken down into components, as is true with your computer. However, people generally use the term 'chemical' to refer a substance that appears homogeneous or the same throughout it's structure.

Chemical Waste Types

The common chemical waste types are :

1) Alkali
2) Chromium (VI) Solution
3) Cyanide
4) Fixer and developer
5) Halogenated Solvent
6) Hydrofluoric Acid
7) Inorganic Acid
8) Lube Oil
9) Metal Sludge
10) Metal Solution
11) Non-halogenated Solvent
12) Organic Acid
13) Organic Gel
14) Oxidizer, acidic
15) Oxidizer
16) Rags with Solvent/ Oil
17) Soil with Phenol

Definition Of Chemical Waste

Definition Of Chemical Waste

Want the left side or the right side situation ?

Chemical waste is a waste that is made from harmful chemicals and mostly, it is produced by large factories. Besides that, chemical waste includes both the chemical byproducts of large manufacturing facilities and laboratories, as well as the smaller-scale solvents and other chemicals disposed of by households. It may fall under the classification of hazardous waste, depending on the nature of the chemicals, for example, chemicals such as ethanol and glycerol don't require special disposal procedures. Any substance or thing being scrap material, effluent or an unwanted substance or by-product arising from the application of or in the course of any process or trade activity and which contains any of the substance or chemicals specified in the schedule would be regarded as chemical waste if such substance or chemical occurs in such form, quantity or concentration so as to cause pollution or constitute a danger to health or risk of pollution to the environment.
